[HIGHLIGHTS] 40 tree species were selected as Nanjing's "Tree Kings": the oldest tree is more than 1500 years old

The Jinling Tree King (Volume I) edited by the team of Professor Shen Yongbao of the College of Forestry of Nanjing Forestry University has been officially published. The book selects Nanjing "tree kings" of 20 tree species, of which the oldest is more than 40 years old.

Ancient trees are not only the "living fossils" of a city, but also carry "genetic material", which is an important basis and carrier for studying species diversity, ecosystem diversity and genetic diversity.
