In response to a series of "inappropriate childcare" such as assault and abuse of kindergarten children at childcare facilities nationwide, the Children and Family Agency conducted a nationwide survey. At least 4,12 cases were confirmed between April and December last year.
This is the first time that the number of cases of abuse by kindergarten staff has been made public, with no obligation to report or make it public. There is no clear definition of "Inappropriate childcare," and the content of responses to childcare facilities varied from kindergarten to kindergarten.
