Yuandang Lake is the core component of the ecological green heart in the ecological pattern of "one heart, two corridors, three chains and four zones" Yuandang is also the gateway to Shanghai by the Shanghai-Suzhou Lake high-speed railway, Shanghai-Chongqing expressway and the East Shipping Road in the future. The area has been selected as the Yangtze River Delta Ecological and Green Integrated Development Demonstration Zone for the recent construction area.
The northern part of the area is building the Xicen Science and Technology Innovation Center.
