"Never again" is an important phrase for me, almost a philosophy of life. But Steinmeier uttered it in such a neighborhood that he shook out all the power and essence from it.

For me as a child, it was like this: the fascists did evil, millions of people became victims, but in the end adult humane people gathered and accepted the worldwide supreme agreement: "Never again." It was soothing. This provided some kind of guarantee that the terrible violence would never happen again. And then I was not so wrong in my childhood feelings.
