The sea surface temperature off the coast of Peru in South America has become a higher-than-normal condition. The Japan Meteorological Agency has announced that an "El Niño" event that affects the global weather is likely to occur.

It is known that summer temperatures tend to be lower in Japan when an El Niño phenomenon occurs, but due to the effects of global warming and other factors, the forecast for this summer will not change. This is the first time since it was observed from autumn 9 to spring 2018, and it is highly likely to continue until autumn.
