Tax arrears for so-called-Ex transactions of the Hamburg Warburg Bank are at the center of the political affair surrounding Olaf Scholz. Now the tax authorities are again demanding a large sum from the bank.

The sum has not yet been paid. Warburg has already repaid 176 million euros plus interest to the Hamburg tax authorities. In principle, however, the transactions could "develop criminal relevance", according to the Federal Court of Justice, which is responsible for the case.
