China News Service, Beijing, April 7 (Reporter Liu Liang) Zhu Jun, full-time vice chairman of the China Household Electrical Appliances Association, pointed out at a press conference on the 7th that China is currently the world's largest manufacturer of electronic toilets. According to relevant statistics, China's annual output of electronic toilets will be 11.69 million units in 2022. The growth trend will remain unchanged in 2023, with total output exceeding 10 million units for three consecutive years. China's electronic toilet production has accounted for 66% of global production.

China's State Administration for Market Regulation recently formulated and issued the "Announcement on the Implementation of Compulsory Product Certification Management for Commercial Gas Burning Appliances and Other Products" and held a special press conference on the 7th to introduce the relevant information of the announcement.

The reporter learned from the meeting that this announcement decided to ban commercial gas burning appliances, flame-retardant wires and cables, electronic toilets, electric bicycle rider helmets, flammable gas detection and alarm products, water-based interior wall coatings, explosion-proof lamps and lanterns with high safety risks. Seven types of products, including control devices, have implemented CCC certification (i.e., China Compulsory Certification); low-voltage components have been restored from CCC self-declaration to third-party evaluation.

Zhu Jun said that from the perspective of the global consumer market, electronic toilets have become a core product for upgrading and updating in the bathroom market. This announcement includes electronic toilets in the CCC certification catalog, which means that every electronic toilet on the market must undergo strict product testing and production conditions review to ensure that it meets relevant national safety standards and requirements.

Li Chunjiang, deputy director of the Certification and Supervision Department of the State Administration for Market Regulation, pointed out that the current CCC certification catalog covers 100 products in 16 categories, including household appliances, electronic equipment, automobiles, toys, etc. In his view, implementing CCC certification for products can ensure product quality and safety and minimize the safety hazards of products entering the market. For example, since the implementation of CCC certification, the qualification rate of China's children's toys has increased from less than 40% to 96%, and that of home appliances has increased from 76.7% to 90.7%.
