His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, said: "Under the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Dubai continues to move steadily towards an important strategic goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, through pioneering projects and initiatives, most notably the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, the largest single-site solar park at the level of The world, according to the independent producer system, in a way that consolidates the foundations of sustainability, and achieves a balance between economic growth and environmental preservation."
This came during the opening of the 25th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX and Dubai Solar Show), which kicked off yesterday in Dubai, under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and organized by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), under the slogan "At the forefront of sustainability". His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum praised the rapid development achieved by Dubai in adopting sustainable strategies and solutions, and the success of the exhibition in its successive sessions over the past 25 years, praising the efforts of those in charge of it.
An inspiring model
His Highness said: "WETEX and Dubai Solar Show have confirmed its position as one of the most important specialized exhibitions in the world and the largest of its kind in the region, at a time when Dubai has become an inspiring model and a pivotal center on the global sustainability map, and we look forward to the event continuing its tangible contribution to highlighting Dubai's efforts and its leading role as a global capital of green economy, supporting climate action, and contributing to providing new opportunities for sustainable economic growth, by stimulating innovation, enhancing cooperation and building effective partnerships."
Coinciding with the UAE's Year of Sustainability, and with preparations to host COP28, WETEX will host the latest developments and the latest technologies and innovative solutions in the fields of renewable and clean energy, environment and water and other sectors that support sustainability, confirming its distinguished position at the global level, as well as its role as an effective platform for exchanging experiences and best practices, and exploring the leading investment opportunities that Dubai offers in the renewable and clean energy sector.
His Highness the Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai toured the exhibition, accompanied by the Secretary General of the Executive Council of Dubai, Abdullah Mohammed Al Basti, Chairman of DEWA, Mattar Humaid Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, Chairman and Founder of WETEX and Dubai Solar Show, and Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of Dubai World Trade Centre Authority.
During the tour, His Highness listened to an explanation of the latest technologies and innovations included in the event in its silver jubilee, new products in the field of energy and water desalination, green technologies, clean and renewable energy solutions, environmental sustainability, technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, digital transformation and artificial intelligence, research and development, and others.

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum stopped at DEWA's booth, where he was briefed on DEWA's most important projects in the field of sustainability, most notably the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, which will have a total capacity of 5000,2030 megawatts by 50, with investments of AED <> billion.
During the tour, His Highness also inspected a number of international and local platforms participating in the exhibition, including Siemens Energy, Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar), Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), Etihad Water and Electricity Company, and DAMAC, in addition to a number of pavilions from the participating countries.
His Highness also listened to an explanation of the various activities included in the event, which will also witness the holding of 163 seminars and specialized discussion sessions, with the participation of a group of international experts and specialists, in parallel with the presentation of the latest technologies and innovations in the energy, water, sustainability, and renewable and clean energy sectors from around the world.

2600 companies from 62 countries
WETEX and Dubai Solar will span 78,2600 square meters in this year's Silver Jubilee Edition, with the participation of about 62,76 companies from 17 countries, and the sponsorship of 24 local and international companies and institutions, until Friday, November 16, at the Dubai World Trade Center. The exhibition features <> international pavilions from <> countries around the world.
