Faced with the excessive number of delays and unpaid alimony payments (30% of files according to the government) which plunge into the precariousness of countless single-parent families, the public authorities have undertaken for several years to strictly regulate these financial payments.

In order to raise awareness and empower parents, the administration has just put online a new simulator to evaluate the amount to be paid on Service-public.fr.

The amount of maintenance is assessed according to the resources of both parents, as well as the needs of the child, but also according to the extent of the right of access and accommodation.

To give you an idea of this envelope, you must therefore enter the net monthly income of the debtor parent (before tax deduction), the type of accommodation right decided (reduced, classic, alternating) and the number of children concerned.

Attention: this is only an indicative amount that may be different from that decided on a case-by-case basis by a judge.

CAF and MSA, your referents

On 1 January 2023, the Family Allowances Fund (CAF) and the Mutualité sociale agricole (MSA) became the systematic intermediaries of former couples in the management of maintenance payments decided for their children, once they were set by an enforceable title.

OUR "SEPARATION" FILE

Divorce judgment, divorce by extrajudicial mutual consent, decision of the judge concerning the exercise of parental authority for an unmarried couple and enforceable title issued by the CAF then automatically imply a payment of maintenance via these bodies.

The only exception is if both parents oppose it or the judge dismisses it.
