The harvesting of wheat and barley crops in Homs province began on the tenth of last May in Tal Kalakh, Al-Qusayr, Palmyra and a number of other areas.

Engineer Younis Hamdan, Director of Homs Agriculture, said in a statement to SANA that the harvested areas of the wheat crop reached about 500 hectares, pointing out that the harvested area of irrigated wheat amounted to 325 hectares and Baal wheat 170 hectares, with a daily marketing of more than 400 tons, while the quantities marketed to the Grain Corporation reached 3794 tons since the start of the harvest process until today.

Hamdan said: The harvested area of barley exceeded 10193,316 hectares, of which 9877 hectares of irrigated barley 3,16.523 hectares of Baal barley, with a daily marketing of <> tons, while the total quantities marketed to the feed establishment reached more than <> tons since the start of the harvest until today.

In the same context, Hamdan pointed out that the harvested area of irrigated beans in the province exceeded 401 hectares, and of Baal beans 491 hectares, while the area harvested from peas reached more than 310 hectares, and the area planted with Baal lentils 750 hectares.
