The area planted with okra in Al-Hasakah governorate, implemented within the summer vegetable areas, exceeded what is planned by the Directorate of Agriculture in light of the demand of farmers to cultivate the crop.

The head of the plant production department in the Directorate of Agriculture of Al-Hasakah, Engineer Jalal Bilal, said in a statement to the SANA correspondent that the area planted with okra reached 218 hectares, exceeding what is planned of 170 hectares in light of the increasing rates of implementation of the cultivation of the crop by farmers, which is witnessing a great demand for its purchase since the beginning of its production in the markets by the people, whether for daily consumption, or even supplying it for consumption in the winter.
