Baal wheat harvesting operations have recently begun in al-Hasakah province by farmers in the southern and eastern regions, with the rest of the agricultural areas to begin next week.

The head of the Department of Plant Production in the Directorate of Agriculture, Eng. Jalal Bilal, said in a statement to the SANA correspondent that the harvesting operations of Baal wheat amounted to about 1000,<> hectares in the southern and eastern region, where the harvest begins earlier than the rest of the regions, as a result of the high temperatures in it, provided that the harvesting operations will expand successively to spread to all regions during the month of June, including irrigated areas.

Engineer Bilal pointed out that the barley harvesting operations that began at the beginning of this month are continuing to date, as the harvested area of Baal barley reached 150,13 hectares, and irrigated barley 500,565 hectares, while the number of harvesters operating in wheat and barley fields reached <> harvesters.

It is noteworthy that the total harvestable area of Baal wheat is 305800,123600 hectares, irrigated wheat is 286700,19200 hectares, while the area of Baal barley is <>,<> hectares, and irrigated barley is <>,<> hectares.
