The harvested area of the wheat crop so far has reached 17216,13216 hectares, of which 414691,170191 hectares are in safe areas, while the area harvested from barley has reached <> hectares, of which <> hectares are in safe areas.

Director of Plant Production at the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Engineer Ahmed Haider Ben, said in a statement to SANA that the wheat harvest began in the governorates of Homs, Hama, Tartous, Latakia, Aleppo, Hasaka and Deir Ezzor, where the area harvested so far reached 17216,13216 hectares, of which 15420,414691 hectares in safe areas, while the quantities marketed to the Syrian Grain Corporation reached 170191,4354 tons, while barley harvesting began in most governorates, except for Suwayda, Quneitra and Raqqa, where the harvested area so far reached <> hectares, including <> hectares in safe areas, <>,<> tons of its production were marketed to the General Organization for Feed.

Haider confirmed that the harvested area of the lentil crop so far amounted to 72283,81549 hectares out of the total cultivated area of 8012,46816 hectares, and <>,<> hectares of chickpeas were harvested from a total area of <>,<> hectares.

As for the summer crops, Haider pointed out that 1967 hectares were planted with yellow corn, 24650,3196 hectares with cotton, and 506,12 hectares with oil crops, including 585 hectares of sunflower, 2093 hectares of soybeans, 12273 hectares of sesame, and 1085,<> hectares of peanuts, and the area planted with potatoes for spring and summer crops reached <>,<> hectares of spring, and <>,<> hectares of summer, noting that planting operations for summer crops are continuing.
