The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries issued a navigation alert through the National Oceanographic Survey as North Korea notified Japan of its plans to launch a satellite.

According to the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, the Japan Sea Security Agency issued a navigation warning after receiving a notification from the North Korean authorities early today (29th) that it would launch a satellite between 31:0 on the 11st and 0:2 on the 1th of next month.

There are a total of three sea areas where safety is required for navigation due to projectile drops, including two in the West Sea and one in the eastern part of the Philippines.

The Ministry of Oceans and Oceans confirmed Japan's navigation warning and notified the National Oceanographic Survey, which issued a navigation warning at 3:10 a.m. that day.

North Korea informed Japan of its satellite launch plan because of the International Maritime Organization's (IMO) Global Navigation Warning System (WWNWS), which is in operation in accordance with a resolution of the General Assembly.

The coordinating authority for the area (NAVAREA XI) to which the Republic of Korea and North Korea belong is Japan.

Member States should inform Japan of urgent matters such as naval firing exercises, naval exercises, ship sinkings, and reef discovery.

An official from the Ministry of Maritime Affairs said, "North Korea has informed Japan, the coordinator of NAVAREA XI, of its plans to launch a satellite, and has confirmed this and issued a navigation warning."

In addition, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs sent a text message to the channel and related industries and organizations asking for navigation safety.
