Bad news for VTC users. Already, since February 1, 2023, the minimum amount of a ride has increased to 7.65 euros, or 9 euros with the commission. But it could be that customers pay, in addition, the "approach time" of the vehicle, the time taken by the driver to arrive at the starting point of the race.

Better remuneration for drivers

Waiting fees could also be counted, reports Le Parisien. The goal is to offer better remuneration to drivers. Discussions are underway with representatives of freelancers and VTC platforms.

Since February 2023, discussions have also focused on the implementation of a "minimum hourly rate", like what is granted to private sector employees. "It will be at least equal to the gross hourly minimum wage for a private employee," confides to the daily the boss of a platform. Or 11.52 euros.

Some of it supported by platforms

Too little for drivers. "We hope, for our part, that the hourly rate will rise, at least, to 15 euros gross. But we do not all agree between trade unions, "told the Parisian the president of the National Federation of Auto-entrepreneurs (FNAE). An agreement more difficult to find since not all have the same expenses, and therefore not the same expenses.

Still, if the customer sees his bill climb, the increase should still be contained. "We are thinking about taking some of it on our own. Not everything will probably be passed on to the consumer," says one executive. The objective is not to slow down the market.
