The branch of the Syrian Grain Corporation in Deir Ezzor began today receiving wheat from farmers for the current season.

The director of the institution's branch, Engineer Adeeb Rakkad, explained in a statement to the SANA correspondent that three permanent centers have been equipped to receive wheat, the first is the Euphrates center in the city of Deir Ezzor, which is dedicated to receiving wheat from farmers and agricultural associations in the western countryside of the governorate, and its capacity reaches more than 75 thousand tons, and the Mayadeen center, which is dedicated to receiving wheat from farmers in the Mayadeen area and its absorptive capacity reaches more than 25 thousand tons, and the Albu Kamal center, which has been rehabilitated and entered into service. After an 11-year hiatus, its capacity reaches more than 15,<> tons, in addition to two direct receiving and shipping centers in both Hatla in the northern countryside of the governorate and adoption in the western countryside.

He pointed out that the institution has taken all measures to receive the crop easily and conveniently, as yards have been prepared to receive paralyzed grains, calibrate domes, prepare laboratories and form specialized committees, in addition to protection measures such as networks, tanks and tractors for firefighting.

A number of farmers expressed satisfaction with the measures taken to facilitate the process of receiving their crops, stressing that this year's wheat season was abundant.

The amount of wheat marketed last season to cereal centers and seed propagation was about 45,<> tonnes.
