Naro Space Center in
Goheung, Jeollanam. Just over two hours before the scheduled launch time, the news came in a disappointing way. When the launch was postponed, small sighs leaked from all over the space center here. But even at this time, we are looking for a solution with the lights on. Today's anomaly was identified as a communication problem between the computers that control the projectile valves. The launch date will be rescheduled tomorrow morning.

First of all, I'm a journalist.

The
wind was calm and the weather was not hot, and everything was fine.

The launch operation process began at 2:12 noon today, and from 24 o'clock, preparations such as checking the propulsion supply system were well underway.

Therefore, the launch management committee held at 1:1 p.m. announced the time of the third challenge of the Nuri at 20:6 p.m. this evening.

[Oh Tae-seok, First Deputy Minister of Science and ICT (Chairman of the Launch Management Committee): After comprehensively reviewing Nuri's technical preparations, weather conditions, and the possibility of a collision with a space object, it was finally decided to proceed with the launch operation procedure with the goal of launching at 24:3 today as scheduled.]

However, just three hours before the challenge time, the mood changed dramatically.

At around 1 p.m., an urgent notice was issued that a launch management committee had been convened immediately due to a technical problem in the preparation for the launch, and at 18:24 p.m., an official announcement was made that the third launch of the Nuri would be postponed.

[Jeong Jung-hwan, head of the Korea Launch Vehicle Advancement Project, KARI: There is a launch control computer that conducts the entire launch, and there is a computer that controls the launch facility. It was confirmed that there was a communication malfunction between the computers....]

The good news is that the error was not the problem of the launch vehicle itself, but the error was discovered before fuel injection.

Therefore, instead of moving the Nuri back to the assembly building, it was left standing on the launch pad for inspection, and according to the results of the inspection, the next launch time will be confirmed tomorrow morning.
