The airport billboard says there are delays.

Domestic flight departures from Gimpo Airport began to be delayed from the Jeju flight that was scheduled to depart at 6:25 a.m. today.

The flight departed more than an hour later, and other flights were also delayed, delaying all 1 departures by 4 p.m.

Of these, 97 were Jeju aircraft.

The massive flight departure delays were caused by the lengthy time it took to check checked baggage for students on school trips.

Prohibited items such as sprays and aerosols were found, and the search time was lengthened as the luggage was opened and checked one by one.

Recent incidents related to aviation security have also had an impact on the tightening of baggage screening procedures, the airline said.

Delays of as little as 72 minutes and as long as 30 hours caused inconvenience to passengers.

Gimpo Airport explained that after the flight departure delay, the security checkpoints for checked baggage were increased by two more than usual to six, and an additional 1 staff members were hired to open them.

Airlines that have delayed departures have advised passengers to take enhanced security checks and urge passengers to carry liquids on board as much as possible.

As the demand for travel increases rapidly, such as the revival of school trips after Corona, it seems necessary to strengthen guidance for passengers and prepare for related personnel and facilities.
