Group of Seven launches Hiroshima Statement of Action for World Food Security

The Group of Seven Summit in Hiroshima, Japan, announced the launch of the "Hiroshima Statement of Action" for resilient global food security with partner countries to meet the needs today and in the future.

The Group's goal of mobilizing up to $600 billion in financing for high-quality infrastructure through the Partnership for Global Infrastructure Investment must be achieved. She announced work to promote a strong and resilient global economic recovery, maintain financial stability, promote jobs and sustainable growth and accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals while recognizing that reducing poverty and tackling the climate and nature crisis go hand in hand.

The seven countries announced to strengthen the development of multilateral development banks, strengthen their partnerships with African countries and support increased African representation in multilateral forums.

The statement issued by the summit included:

-Preserving the planet by accelerating decarbonization of our energy sector and deploying renewables, ending plastic pollution and protecting the oceans;

Deepen cooperation through partnerships for the Just Energy Transition, the Climate Club and the New Countries Packages for Forest, Nature and Climate.

And decided:

Invest in global health through worldwide vaccine manufacturing capacity, the Epidemic Fund, the upcoming International Compact for Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness and Response, and efforts to achieve universal health coverage.

Cooperation on international migration and strengthening our joint efforts to combat human trafficking and smuggling;

Promote international discussions on the inclusive governance of artificial intelligence (AI) and interoperability to achieve our shared vision and goal of trustworthy AI, in line with our shared democratic values.

Defend international principles and shared values by:

Support and strengthen a free and open international order based on the rule of law and respect for the Charter of the United Nations for the benefit of countries, large and small.

Strengthening disarmament and non-proliferation efforts, towards the ultimate goal of a nuclear-weapon-free world with undiminished security for all;

Coordinate our approach to economic resilience and security, which is based on diversifying and deepening partnerships and removing risks, not disengagement.

Drive the transition to clean energy economies in the future through cooperation within and outside the G7.
