SNCF will offer 10,000 tickets at 1 euro on its website. The offer will be valid from 7 a.m. on May 23 but will only be accessible for 24 hours. Only journeys made aboard a "Ouigo Train Classique" between May 24 and July 5 inclusive are concerned by this promotion, details TF1 Info.

14 stations at lower fares than other trains

It is to celebrate the first anniversary of this range of trains that SNCF has set up this offer. The formula was launched in 2022 on two French rail routes: Paris-Lyon and Paris-Nantes. The "Ouigo Train Classique" trains serve a total of 14 stations including Dijon (Côte-d'Or), Saumur (Maine-et-Loire) and Angers (Maine-et-Loire) but also stops in the Paris region.

The network has been designed to allow fast travel at a lower cost. If the travel time can be similar to that of an Intercités or a TER, the price of the place is between 10 and 49 euros. "Ouigo Train Classique" was a success since SNCF announced that it had transported 1.3 million passengers during the first year of service. A third of them would be young people.

The railway undertaking is also considering extending this offer to other sections. It could thus appear in Bordeaux (Gironde), Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône), Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine), Lille (Nord) and even Brussels (Belgium). However, there are no immediate plans for development. The SNCF wants to wait for the end of the experimentation of the first two axes, scheduled for 2024.
