tomorrow, the price of electricity will increase by 1 won per kilowatt-hour.

If a household of four uses 8 kilowatt-hours of electricity for a month, this is an increase of about 4,332 won in electricity bills.

Gas prices will also increase by 3.1 won per megajoule from tomorrow.

As the financial situation of energy utilities deteriorates day by day, the government explains that it cannot postpone the rate hike any longer, although KEPCO and Gas Corporation have come up with a proposal earlier.

However, the government has decided to suspend the application of the tariff increase for one year to the average usage for energy-vulnerable groups, such as basic living recipients and the next highest class.

For those who are socially considerate, the electricity bill is discounted from 1,04 won to 1,8 won per month.

The installment payment system for electricity bills, which has been limited to existing residential use, will be extended to small business owners and root companies.

Starting in July, when the demand for cooling will increase in earnest, we have decided to significantly expand the energy cashback system to general consumer households.

Households that use less electricity than other households in the same area can receive an incentive of 000 won per kilowatt-hour for the electricity savings.
