Tahnoon Saif, CEO of the Mohammed bin Rashid Aviation Project, said that the volume of investment in the project exceeded three billion dirhams, 30% of which is in infrastructure, while operating companies constitute 70% of the investment in facilities and equipment necessary to perform their tasks, expecting the total investment in the project to double over the next three years.

Saif added to Emirates Today: "Since the launch of the project, we have been able to attract major companies working in the field of aircraft maintenance and its parts, as well as private aviation operators. We have signed several agreements with medium-sized to small-sized companies, which see an opportunity to support large companies and the aviation sector."

Comprehensive services He continued: "The Mohammed bin Rashid Aviation Project currently employs more than 60 companies that provide comprehensive services within various business sectors in the project, such as private aviation, maintenance, repair and renewal of aircraft, offices, retail stores, education and training."

The project extends over an area of seven square kilometers, he said, while development work is continuing on the project. "Before the end of last year, we delivered the Supplier Park, to be the first vertical facility in the region for the maintenance and storage of aircraft parts and parts, with plans to add two new phases later in the coming years, given the growing demand for this unique facility in the region," he said.

Dubai Hillpark

"We have also recently commenced construction work for the second phase of the Dubai Helipark, to build the helicopter hangar. The project continues to attract companies operating in the field of aviation, to expand in the region or to establish their businesses, by taking advantage of the advanced infrastructure and distinguished services within the integrated system of Dubai South."

Saif pointed to the increasing growth in private aviation traffic in the project, which has reached high levels in the past two years.

"We are working hard to raise the ceiling of our services to achieve the best during 2023," he said, praising the vision of the leadership that continues to launch government and economic initiatives aimed at attracting investors, entrepreneurs and VIPs from around the world to Dubai.

Saif stressed that «advanced infrastructure and distinguished services have contributed to the growth of the sector in general», pointing out that this is part of the project's plans to contribute to making the emirate a leading global aviation center.

Travel Growth

On the aviation maintenance sector, Saif added: "We observe the gradual return of the growth of the business travel sector in the Middle East and Africa, and reaching the stage of recovery and recovery more quickly than any other region, according to the latest forecast of the annual business travel index (2022) issued by the World Business Travel Association, the largest business travel association in the world."

In response to a question about initiatives to enhance the attractiveness of the project for companies, Saif said: "One of the most important features of the Mohammed bin Rashid Aviation Project is the advanced facilities and services it provides to small, medium and large companies operating in the field of aviation."

He continued: «We also provide all the facilities, services required and incentives for interested companies, to support them in establishing their business within an integrated system, as the project is a free zone for private aviation companies and industries related to the aviation sector».
