Mohammed bin Rashid: Emirates Airline has set new standards of excellence in air travel

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said in a speech at the introduction of the Emirates Group Annual Report 2022/2023 that Dubai's economy stands today on the threshold of a new phase of economic growth after all its vital sectors during the past year provided remarkable performance and recorded strong growth, in new evidence of the great resilience enjoyed by Dubai and its well-established economy in the face of changes that may negatively affect global economies.

His Highness added: "Dubai has written new success stories by which it has confirmed its leadership in innovation and providing real added value, and maintained its position as a major attraction for foreign direct investment, especially in sectors concerned with the future, while continuing its global leadership with its open approach and strong partnership between the public and private sectors, within a vital business environment for which the emirate harnessed all factors of excellence.

"In 2022, Dubai chose to introduce new growth paths to reaffirm its position as a leading and inspiring global economic model. Earlier this year, we launched the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, with ambitious goals to double the economy and make Dubai one of the top three economic cities in the world by 2033.

"There is no doubt that the aviation sector is a key pillar of Dubai's economy and a key pillar of our vision for its contribution as an active partner in building the future of the world. With this in mind, we have been increasing our strategic investments in this sector and continuing to develop one of the world's largest aerospace hubs. The success of Emirates Airline and its growing position among the world's largest airlines has been an important component of Dubai's decades-long economic boom, and its wide reach has helped strengthen Dubai's global role as a vital bridge between markets and cultures.

His Highness praised the exceptional achievements of Emirates Airline, which over the past 720 years has transported about 38 million passengers and 500 million tonnes of cargo to, from and through Dubai, and today, in cooperation with its partners, provides flights to more than <> cities, facilitates communication between people around the world and connects them to our city through its extensive network.
