His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates Airline and Group, said: "We are proud of our performance in 2022/2023, which is not only a full recovery, but also a record achievement.
His Highness added: "This achievement would not have been possible without the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who has been behind our success today and over the years. The architect of Dubai's progressive economic policies, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is also the engine of the Emirates Group's trajectory, and without his leadership and support, the size of Emirates would not have been half what it is today."
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum continued: "I am proud of the performance of the Emirates Group in 2022/2023, and our contribution to the restoration of air traffic and tourism across the markets we serve, including Dubai's impressive 97% year-on-year growth in international visitor numbers for 2022."

"The Group is the largest player in the UAE's aviation sector, which supports more than 770,47 jobs and generates an estimated contribution to GDP of more than $172 billion (AED 5.33 billion). Through growth plans, and in line with Dubai's D<> economic agenda, we expect our contribution to the UAE's GDP to rise significantly over the next decade through direct and indirect employment, supply chain spending, tourism spending, and leveraging trade and the movement of goods."
Strong comeback
Commenting on the performance of Emirates Group in the financial year (2022/2023), His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum said: "We expected a strong return to business, and with the lifting of the latest travel restrictions and the resulting wave of demand, we were ready to expand our operations quickly and safely to serve our customers, at a time when our continued investments in our brand, products and services have helped increase customer preference and placed us in an excellent position in the market. As a result, we achieved record financial performance and record cash balances for the fiscal year. This reflects the strength of our proven business model, careful future planning, the hard work of all our employees, and our strong partnerships across the aviation and travel ecosystem."

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum said: "In 2022/2023, we have not only reinstated most of our operations, but we have also developed our footprint and capabilities by investing in human resources, new products and technologies, demonstrating our resilience and capabilities. His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum concluded his remarks by saying: "We are moving forward in our current fiscal year (2023/2024) with a strong positive outlook, with expectations of continued profitability. We will continue to work towards our goals while monitoring inflation, rising fuel prices, and global political and economic developments."

17,<> new jobs during fiscal year
Emirates and dnata ramped up recruitment activities around the world during the year to support the expansion of operations and enhance the Group's future capabilities.
As a result, the total number of employees in the Emirates Group increased by 20% to 102,379 employees, representing more than 160 nationalities.
The total number of employees in the «Emirates Group» at the end of the last financial year was 85,219 employees, indicating that the group added 17,160 jobs during its fiscal year.
