Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed attends Annual Investment Meeting

H.H. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, attended the 12th edition of the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM), which is being held for the first time in the emirate under the patronage of His Highness at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).

During the visit, His Highness met with a group of decision-makers, business leaders, investors and representatives of local and international institutions and companies specialized in smart city services and advanced technological services, and inspected the smart city pavilion, which is a model for future cities based on three pillars of sustainability, including social, environmental and economic aspects.

His Highness also visited the pavilion of the Department of Economic Development - Abu Dhabi, where he listened to an explanation of the plans of unicorns, totaling US$ 4 billion, to explore investment opportunities and establish their operations in Abu Dhabi.

His Highness also visited the SME Startup Zone, which is attended by 190 companies from 80 countries under the umbrella of Hub71, Abu Dhabi's global technology ecosystem.

His Highness was accompanied by His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, His Excellency Ahmed Jassim Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Department of Economic Development - Abu Dhabi, and His Excellency Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary General of the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi.

H.E. Ahmed Jassim Al Zaabi said: "The broad changes affecting and reshaping the global economy are pushing us to bring together the most prominent players in the global economy to discuss and develop strategies for economic trends to explore the available opportunities."

"Abu Dhabi's Falcon Economy continues to achieve more achievements, with the recently announced GDP data confirming the competitiveness, strength and resilience of Abu Dhabi's economy, with the emirate's GDP up 9.3%. during the past year (2022), continuing to lead the growth rates in the Middle East and North Africa."

The forum is organized by the Department of Economic Development - Abu Dhabi (DED), in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, under the theme 'Transforming Investments: Future Investment Opportunities to Promote Sustainable Economic Growth, Diversification and Prosperity'.

The Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) will witness the participation of more than 16000,170 people from 160 countries around the world, and its program includes 600 dialogue sessions in which <> speakers participate to exchange views and ideas in discussion sessions and workshops, in which a group of experts and pioneers of the financial and business sector and researchers in economic sciences participate and supervise.
