Tourism Cooperates with Air Arabia to Increase Tourism Promotion to Bahrain Regionally and Internationally

The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) announced its cooperation with Air Arabia to further promote the tourism sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain regionally and internationally, and to introduce more tourism destinations in Bahrain and the expansion and diversification of facilities and services achieved by the sector.

The two sides signed a cooperation partnership in this regard on the sidelines of the Arabian Travel Market currently taking place in Dubai, and the partnership will focus on promoting Bahrain as a tourism destination in three source markets – the UAE, India and Russia, with efforts focused in particular on promoting Bahrain as a global hub for meetings, conferences, entertainment and weddings.

The partnership was signed by H.E. Fatima bint Jaafar Al Serafi, Minister of Tourism of the Kingdom of Bahrain and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, and Mr. Shalini Rajan, Director of International Market Sales at Air Arabia, as well as Mr. Rajesh Narula, Regional General Manager for South India and East Asia, Ms. Sally Sidqi, Head of Tourism Marketing at Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority and Mr. Eyad Al Ansari, Senior Tourism Relations Specialist at the Authority.

In a statement on the sidelines of the signing, Minister Serafi stressed the importance of this agreement with Air Arabia, the first and largest low-cost airline in the Middle East and North Africa, in improving the opportunities for cooperation between the two sides, supporting the efforts of the Bahrain Tourism Authority in marketing tourist destinations in Bahrain globally, and enhancing international tourism access to the Kingdom through a wide network of destinations served by Air Arabia, through the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two parties.

She explained that this partnership supports the ambitious goals of the Tourism Strategy 2022-2026, and the pillars on which this strategy depends, including business tourism, especially after the launch of the Bahrain International Exhibition Center, and the ability of this center to host major regional and international events, conferences and exhibitions.

Al Serafi also pointed out that working with Air Arabia is a strategic cooperation to support the development of the Bahraini tourism and travel sector and improve consultation and cooperation mechanisms in the fields of safety, air navigation, security, environment and air transport to ensure the development of joint promotional campaigns to raise awareness of tourist destinations in Bahrain and motivate tourists to visit them.

On a related level, Her Excellency pointed out that this partnership is one of the steps to enhance cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates in various fields of the tourism industry, and an affirmation of serious efforts to move forward in developing this cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
