Reporter Kwon Ae-ri of Friendly Economy. It seems that we have prepared some useful news for May, the month of the family. I think these are the products that I made for parents to put in their pocket money on Mother's Day, but there were a lot of these products coming out, and there were a lot of boxes that popped up.

Even though I just put my pocket money,
there are a lot of products full of ideas like this.

In fact, this small folding screen box alone costs 300,000 won if you fill it with 50,000 won and 60,000 won if you fill it with 10,000 won.

Honestly, when you can't fill as much as you like because you don't have enough pockets, let's prepare a little box with something gorgeous, and it can be said that these products reflect the wishes of these children.

It's the so-called Family Week. May is Happy Family Month, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel the financial burden.

Parents with children have been worried since Children's Day. After Children's Day, there will be a lot of children visiting their parents this weekend and sharing their pocket money and gift meals.

When Lotte Members asked adult men and women in their 20s to 60s, 3 out of 5 responded that they would give gifts as pocket money.

It's cash, too. According to previous surveys, the most desirable gift for parents is cash.

The average budget for Mother's Day gifts is 336,000 won, and the average budget for Children's Day gifts is 124,800 won. Your Mother's Day budget is nearly tripling.

<I think >
average budget for anchors is about 300,000 won, but I
think this will vary a bit by age group.

As you
can see >
<reporter, the 30-somethings were the most budget-grabbing.

The average is 362,800 won. Then the average was 303,200 won for those in their 40s, then 50s, and 20s, and 297,600 won for those in their 60s. It's a bit surprising.

On average, 40~50s are the lowest, and I think I will have to give more Mother's Day pocket money over time, but the budget for 30s is the most generous.

But if you think about it, you're in your 30s when you can take care of your parents as much as possible while worrying less about money.

The unmarried rate of men in their 30s exceeded the majority for the first time in 2020. 50.8% of men in their 30s are not married. 33.6% of women in their 30s are unmarried.

Newlyweds barely exceed 54% of the time they have children by the fifth year of marriage.

So, since there are many people in their 30s who are single, so-called dink, and have no children while earning double income, they can budget more generously than those in their 40s ~ 50s, who spend money on both children and parents.

There's a lot of money going out on
Children's Day and Mother's Day besides pocket money. Please point out some other prices.

Summer delicacies cold noodles and ice cream raise prices in the spring before summer arrives. The same goes for theme parks ahead of the peak season in May.

Since last March, Everland has increased the daily pass to 4,000 won and the annual pass to 10,000 won for children and 30,000 won for adults.

I posted it once last year, and then I posted it over and over again.

If a family of four with two young children wants to visit on Children's Day, it now costs 252,000 won for a day alone.

You have to eat. Prices are rising a bit more subdued, but the price of eating out is an exception. It rose 7.6% last month. It was also 7.4% in the previous month.

Based on Seoul, a bowl of cold noodles and a bowl of bibimbap now average well over 10,000 won. Pork belly is 20,000 won for 1 person.

If you go to a rather expensive place on a special occasion, such as a hotel buffet, you're afraid to count.

In the run-up to May, the buffet prices at luxury hotels in Seoul have recently increased by as little as 12% to nearly 20%.

Based on the Children's Day dinner on May 5, it is about 159,000 won to 185,000 won per person.

Even if you don't go to such an expensive place, it would cost an estimated 1 million won for a family of four to go to the theme park on Children's Day, eat out, pay for gas, take their parents to eat, and prepare Mother's Day gifts and pocket money.

So, it would be good if the adult children who have a lot of money to go out of their money would be generous and generously praise them for their generous gratitude no matter how much they prepare.

It's a society where you get married, you have kids, and at the same time, you give more and more of your allowance on Mother's Day, and it's very hard to accomplish it all at the same time.
