Flydubai CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith revealed that the airline is considering concluding a new order of single-aisle aircraft in the coming period, to keep pace with the growth in demand and increase the size of the travel market to and from Dubai, while it will deliver 17 aircraft by the end of this year, noting that there are open and continuous negotiations with aircraft manufacturers to identify opportunities to buy new aircraft.

Al Ghaith said in a press statement on the sidelines of the participation in the Arabian Travel Market, which began its activities in Dubai yesterday, that the choice of time and quality of this order is subject to market conditions, stressing that the airline will continue to search with manufacturers to support and expand its fleet in the coming years.

Exceptional performance

Al Ghaith expects the airline to record an exceptional performance, which is the strongest in the airline's history, this year, in light of the momentum of tourism activity and the growing demand for travel through flydubai's global network, pointing out that the operational performance data during the first quarter confirms that the airline is on track to record record performance by the end of 2023.

He also predicted that the airline will continue to grow momentum this year and next, as demand for Dubai and the UAE as a prominent global destination for business and tourism continues.

Al Ghaith also expects the airline to achieve growth in its profits this year, compared to the airline's levels of about AED 1.2 billion last year, the highest in the company's history since the start of operations.

New Aircraft

Al Ghaith confirmed that the airline maintains the aircraft receipt schedule, which is expected to reach 17 aircraft by the end of this year, as the airline aims to operate 90 aircraft during the next year.

Chartering aircraft

He announced that the company, as in previous years, is considering leasing aircraft in the coming months in conjunction with the winter season to keep pace with the growth in demand for travel, pointing out that the basis of flydubai's success lies in its excellence in meeting the needs of its customers of travelers, whether for business or tourism.

Al Ghaith pointed out that the largest percentage of passengers through «flydubai», was the final destination Dubai, by 70%, adding: «But after the partnership with (Emirates Airlines), we also noticed an increase in the number of transit passengers».
