As demand for international travel continues to increase in earnest, the Korea Consumer Agency has urged people to be extra cautious about online ticket sales site Kiwi.com.

Consumer A bought two round-trip tickets to Guam for 2.196 million won on Kiwi.com, which was searched through a price comparison site last month.

However, the next day, when Mr. A demanded a refund due to personal reasons, Kiwi.com refused to refund the remaining expenses, paying only 10 euros in advance due to prior notice.

Kiwi.com claimed that because it had been informed in advance on the merchandise sales page and terms and conditions, refunds were not possible apart from the airline's own regulations.

The Korea Consumer Agency cautioned that, like Mr. A's case, there is a surge in consumer damage from Kiwi.com for not receiving a proper refund of the payment after cancellation.

He also explained that the Consumer Affairs Agency recommended improvements to the terms last year, but Kiwi.com did not accept them.

The terms and conditions state that consumers can directly request cancellation or refund from the airline, but in fact, most airlines inform the airline to cancel through the place of purchase, so it is not easy to solve the situation through direct cancellation.
