Statement from Dubai Airports after Dubai International tops list of the world's largest airports

Paul Griffiths, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Airports, said: "We are delighted to be the world's busiest international airport for the ninth consecutive year, a result expected given DXB's outstanding performance in 2022 and the increase in traffic in the fourth quarter of the year.

In a statement obtained by Emirates Today, Griffiths added: "The air travel sector witnessed a significant increase in global travel in 2022, and this achievement at Dubai International Airport came as a result of continuous planning, coordination and amazing performance by all teams and various strategic partners, which distinguishes us as one community at Dubai Airports. Thanks to this preparedness and preparedness in cooperation with our partners, we have been able to accommodate the rapid increase in travel traffic while ensuring the best services in accordance with the highest international standards, ensuring a smooth and exceptional travel experience for all our 66 million guests last year.
