Al Etihad Credit Bureau has allowed the two telecommunications companies in the UAE to immediately and quickly verify credit for customers wishing to purchase devices of all kinds, with a smart payment system, or installments, in order to determine whether they are financially qualified to purchase these products or not.

Under the service, verification takes only a few seconds via the smart app, whether for E&G (formerly Etisalat) or du, a subsidiary of Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company.

According to a disclosure, a copy of which was obtained by Emirates Today, the two telecommunications companies coordinated with Al Etihad Credit Bureau to conduct a credit assessment, to find out the eligibility of customers regarding the history of financial commitment with banks and other institutions, and to provide the two companies with the result of the evaluation.

The two telecommunications companies also coordinated with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation to conduct a process to verify the eligibility of customers and obtain the result based on their salaries.

The customer's verification process is carried out through an automated online process, and based on the result of the credit score (and/or) his salary limit in the records of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, his eligibility for the purchase of phones, smart home appliances, accessories, and wearables is determined, and then the amount of the down payment is calculated, which can range between zero down payment, and the full amount of the device sold.

It is noteworthy that Al Etihad Credit Bureau previously announced that the patterns of payment of dues related to services provided by telecommunications companies, will appear in the credit report, and will affect the creditworthiness of the person, and the possibility of obtaining or benefiting from preferential services and products provided by telecommunications companies.
