Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange appoints Emirates NBD Capital as Custodian

The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) has appointed Emirates NBD Capital as a custodian, continuing to expand its portfolio of custody services.

Emirates NBD Capital has been granted a custody license by the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA).

The bank has partnered with BNY Mellon, the world's largest custody banking institution, to provide custody services to its customers.

As a licensed custodian, Emirates NBD Capital provides safe solutions for investors to hold securities, such as stocks, bonds or other assets.

These services complement the company's various services and solutions for securities investors.

The Group's alliance with BNY Mellon will provide Emirates NBD customers with access to BNY Mellon's global capabilities in conservation, asset servicing, data and technology.

The appointment of Emirates NBD Capital as a custodian at ADX and the expansion of its custody options is a new step in the market's efforts to enhance liquidity levels and attract more international investors, which will contribute to increasing and diversifying its components, expanding the list of listed companies, introducing new products and services, and improving corporate governance practices.

Saeed Hamad Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and CEO of ADX, said: "We welcome Emirates NBD Capital as a custodian of ADX, an important step that will contribute to increasing the custody options available to investors. We will continue to expand and enhance the quality of our portfolio of services and products to investors to position ADX as one of the most dynamic financial markets in the region."

Mohammed Al Bastaki, Chief Executive Officer of Emirates NBD Capital, said: "We are delighted to offer custody services at ADX as part of our comprehensive portfolio of securities services. Our alliance with BNY Mellon combines the regional expertise and track record of excellence of the Emirates NBD Group with the global knowledge of the world's largest custodian bank, providing our clients with custody services across multiple geographies, while supporting the development of the post-trade value chain and the growth of capital markets in the region."
