Continues its expansion in the UAE. Amazon opens new warehouse in Dubai South
Amazon today opened its newest warehouse in the United Arab Emirates, specifically in Dubai South.
The new warehouse has a capacity of 2.1 million cubic feet, which will increase the total storage capacity of Amazon's warehouses in the UAE by 70%.
The opening of the facility comes as the company prepares to meet the growing demand from customers during the holy month of Ramadan, as this expansion will enable the highest levels of customer satisfaction by providing them with a wide range of products, including electronics, home appliances, food, fashion products, books and other categories.
With more than 25 years of experience in technology and logistics innovation, Amazon will support and strengthen the UAE's e-commerce ecosystem.
The new warehouse consists of five floors, covers an area of more than 350,<> square feet, and is equipped with innovative technical solutions for logistics operations, with advanced transportation equipment covering a distance of approximately three kilometers.
In support of the UAE's vision to build a digital and diversified economy, Amazon's enhanced storage capacity will provide Amazon's entrepreneurs, sales partners and SMEs with access to world-class logistics expertise and state-of-the-art technology. To reach a wider customer base more quickly and efficiently, SMEs can take advantage of the Fulfilled by Amazon option that allows them to store, select, package, and ship customer orders through Amazon.
The company recently announced its commitment to host 100,2026 businesses, including local SMEs, on Amazon in the Amazon.ae UAE by 33, in support of Dubai's D<> economic agenda to make Dubai the world's leading digital economy city.
The new warehouse is located in Dubai South's Logistics District, providing efficient and fast services, streamlined operations and direct access to Jebel Ali Port and Al Maktoum International Airport. The logistics zone is divided into multiple zones to facilitate distribution, including the cargo zone; EZDubai, the fully dedicated e-commerce zone in Dubai South; and a contractual logistics zone.
