The total number of hotel establishments in Dubai reached 809 by the end of January 2023. Archival

Data from the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai showed that the total number of new hotel rooms opened in the emirate in six months between August 2022 and January 2023 reached about 5000,833 rooms, an average of more than <> new rooms per month.

The data, a copy of which was obtained by Emirates Today, showed that the number of new hotel rooms in Dubai recorded about 147.2 thousand hotel rooms by the end of last January, compared to 142.2 thousand rooms by the end of August 2022.

New Facilities

Dubai's hotel market saw 30 new properties open between August last year and January 2023, with an average of five new hotels each month.

The total number of hotel establishments in the emirate increased to 809 establishments during January 2023 compared to 779 establishments by the end of August 2022.

Record

October last year saw a record number of new hotel rooms entering the market at a rate of about 2000,142 hotel rooms in one month, as the size of the hotel market in Dubai increased from 782,2022 rooms in September 144 to 737,2022 rooms in October <>.

During the same month, the number of hotel establishments increased from 784 to 790 establishments with an average of six new establishments.

Deluxe Rooms

By the end of January, five-star luxury hotel rooms accounted for 34% of the total hotel market in Dubai, recording about 50,152 hotel rooms across 29 hotel properties, followed by four-star hotel rooms at 42%, recording about 7.191,<> hotel rooms across <> properties.

For its part, hotels classified between «three stars» and «star» accounted for about 20% of the total hotel market size with a capacity of more than 28.8 thousand hotel rooms, within 273 hotel properties.

Aparthotel

According to data from the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai, the number of hotel apartments in the emirate reached 25.6 thousand apartments within 193 establishments, by the end of January, accounting for 18% of the volume of the hotel market.
