Aeon Retail, which operates general merchandise stores under the umbrella of major retailer Aeon, has introduced a system that allows part-time employees who are in charge of sales floors to be treated the same as full-time employees.

The aim is to secure and retain human resources.

Under the system introduced by Aeon Retail from the end of last month, part-time employees who have passed the promotion exam are treated the same as full-time employees on the premise that they work 120 hours or more per month.

In addition to basic salaries and bonuses, various allowances such as retirement allowances and childcare support, which have not been paid until now, will be calculated based on the hourly wages for full-time employees, and will be paid for the hours worked.

Part-time workers are part-time leaders and managers who are responsible for managing employee shifts and product purchases.

Since it has been applied to 42 people who have passed the promotion exam so far, the company wants to increase the number of eligible people in stages.

Of the company's approximately 120,000 employees, about 73,000, or 60%, are part-timers. Therefore, the introduction of a new system will increase the motivation of employees to work, and secure and retain human resources. I have a goal.

In the distribution industry, where there is a serious labor shortage, there is a growing movement to review the treatment of non-regular employees, but it is unusual for companies to introduce a system that equalizes the treatment of part-time employees and regular employees. .
