Select about 35 counties (county-level cities, districts, banners, and districts and counties under the jurisdiction of municipalities directly under the central government, hereinafter collectively referred to as counties) where traditional villages are concentrated nationwide to carry out demonstrations for the protection and utilization of traditional villages in concentrated contiguous areas. The demonstration period is 2 years.

  The notice pointed out that the declared county should have 5 or more traditional Chinese villages listed in the national protection list.

Each province can recommend 1-2 counties and districts to participate in the evaluation of demonstration counties and districts. Among them, provinces with less than 5 counties and districts (not included) and 5 or more can recommend 1 and 2 counties and districts respectively.

Demonstration cities, prefectures, and demonstration counties that have already received central financial support are not allowed to apply repeatedly.

  The notice shows that the central government will provide fixed-amount rewards and subsidies to demonstration counties and districts. The subsidy benchmarks for the eastern, central and western demonstration counties and districts are 30 million yuan, 40 million yuan and 50 million yuan respectively; at the same time, according to the number of traditional Chinese villages in the demonstration counties and districts Corresponding reward and subsidy coefficients are given, and the subsidy coefficients of demonstration counties with 5-9, 10-19, 20 or more traditional Chinese villages are 1, 1.25, and 1.5 respectively.

The subsidy fund for each demonstration county is the corresponding subsidy benchmark multiplied by the subsidy coefficient.
