The energy vouchers had been sent from March 30 in 2022. But this year, they could arrive at the homes of beneficiaries a little late, reveals Capital. The Ministry of Energy Transition has announced that this subsidy to pay part of its gas or electricity bills could be distributed "a few weeks later" compared to the end of March.

A large amount of work

To justify this delay, the executive highlighted an "exceptional workload" compared to previous years. To fight against the explosion of energy prices, the government has indeed multiplied the aid schemes, whether it is the wood check, the fuel check or the exceptional energy check. However, if the sending of the exceptional energy check was automatic, this is not the case for the fuel check or the wood check, whose application must be made online before April 30, 2023.

As a result, the Services and Payment Agency, which is responsible for distributing the cheque, was therefore forced to postpone the sending of the usual energy voucher. If the May horizon has been brought forward, the government will communicate at a later date the precise date from which the subsidy will begin to be sent.

How to benefit from the energy voucher?

As a reminder, the energy voucher allows eligible owners or tenants to benefit from aid ranging from 48 euros to 277 euros. To be eligible, his reference tax income (RFR) divided by the composition of his household expressed in consumption unit (UA) must be less than 10,800 euros per UA. The lower the result, the greater the amount of aid.

However, there is nothing to do to get this help, since it is sent automatically. Note that the energy check also allows you to benefit from certain advantages, especially in the event of a move or when you find yourself in a situation of unpaid. In previous years, it was valid for a full year.
