Strata Manufacturing, a composite aerostructures manufacturing company wholly owned by Mubadala Investment Company, has confirmed that it is proceeding with its plans to localize industries in the space sectors through its partnership with the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre.
She added to "Emirates Today" that it aims to add between three and four new production lines in the factory during the current year 2023, and deliver about 6000,3000 pieces of airframe parts, noting that there are <>,<> aircraft around the world, parts of which bear the slogan "Proudly Made in the UAE."
The company revealed that it has finally entered a new sector represented in the manufacture of medicines and vaccines, noting that the plant will enter production at the end of 2025. It will be the first facility to manufacture pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical vaccines for the treatment of complex diseases in the region.
Localization of industries
In detail, the CEO of Strata Manufacturing, Ismail Ali Abdullah, said that the company is proceeding with its plans to localize industries in the space sectors, noting that its agreement with the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center is still valid, after it signed a contract with it to manufacture more parts and components of the MBZ-Sat satellite.
Abdullah added that the signing of the agreement comes within the framework of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre's efforts to cooperate with local companies specialized in the space sector, specifically to manufacture and supply components for the MBZ-Sat satellite, and to establish a local center for manufacturers concerned with space, which establishes strategic cooperation that will enhance the sustainability of the national space sector in the UAE. "We are the strategic partner of the center in the process of manufacturing some parts," he said.
Structural Parts
Abdullah said that Strata Manufacturing is an advanced manufacturing company, not just an aerospace company, as it invests in three main sectors, the first of which is the manufacture of aerostructures parts from composite materials, as it currently owns 30 production lines, and plans to add three to four new production lines during the year 2023, pointing out that discussions are underway regarding these new lines.
He revealed that the company aims to deliver between 5000,6000 and 3000,<> pieces that will be used in the aircraft industry this year, which is close to pre-pandemic levels, pointing out that the number of aircraft around the world bearing parts of which bear the slogan "Proudly Made in the UAE" currently exceeds <>,<> aircraft of different models for major international aircraft manufacturers, including: Airbus, Boeing and Leonardo.
Composite Materials
Abdullah added that the second sector is the manufacture of composite materials through the Strata Solvy Advanced Materials plant in Al Ain, a joint venture with Belgian company Solvie, which specializes in the manufacture of composites and chemicals.
"After completing all the construction work of the plant now, we are in the process of starting to approve the materials in the factory," he said, noting that these materials will be used in the modern Boeing 777X.
Medicines and vaccines
Abdullah pointed to an agreement between Mubadala Investment Company and National Resources Inc. to develop and strengthen the biopharmaceutical industry in Abu Dhabi by establishing a new facility in the UAE to manufacture biopharmaceuticals.
Under the agreement, Mubadala will establish the facility in Abu Dhabi, while Resale will manage the facility and manufacture vital medicines and vaccines used to treat complex diseases such as cancer, infectious diseases, infections, autoimmune disorders and pandemic vaccines.
"This UAE facility will be the first facility to manufacture medicines and pharmaceutical vaccines for the treatment of complex diseases in the region."
He revealed that the factory will enter the production phase at the end of 2025, pointing to the start of the process of appointing specialized consultants and designing the factory.
More efficient air conditioner
Abdullah said that the UAE's hosting of the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) is an affirmation of the great role and efforts of the country in addressing climate issues and establishing industry standards that keep pace with these efforts, pointing out that the company is looking forward to presenting and presenting a number of projects during the conference, and a model of an air conditioner that is the most efficient in the world.
He explained that Strata Manufacturing, in cooperation with Hyperganik, a specialist in artificial intelligence-based engineering platforms, and the German industrial 10D printing company EOS, signed a partnership last year to manufacture the world's most energy-efficient air conditioner, noting that under this agreement, the partners will integrate Hyperganic's algorithmic engineering solutions with industrial metal <>D printing processes created by EOS, and advanced technological technologies provided by Strata to produce modules. Household air conditioning is up to <> times more efficient and less energy-efficient than conventional air conditioning units, enhancing its global competitiveness in the market.
Increased demand
Ismail Ali Abdulla, CEO of Strata Manufacturing, confirmed that the target number of parts that Strata Manufacturing will deliver is an indication of increased demand, with the recent announcement of a large number of aircraft orders by various international airlines.
Strata aims to open between three and four new production lines. and delivery of 6000,<> pieces of airframe parts.
