Dubai to attract half of its visitors from 7 key international markets in 2022

Seven international markets accounted for 49 per cent of Dubai's 2022.14 million international visitors in its 36 tourism season, an increase of 97 per cent compared to the same period in 2021, when the city welcomed 7.28 million visitors, outpacing the recovery of the global and regional tourism sector.

The total number of visitors from the seven markets - India, Oman, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, Russia, America and Germany - reached nearly seven million visitors last year, according to data released by the Department of Economy and Tourism.

India topped the list of source markets for international visitors to Dubai in 2022, recording about 1.8 million international visitors, a growth of 102%, compared to 2021, while the Sultanate of Oman came in second place, recording 1.3 million international tourists, exceeding pre-pandemic levels by 27%.

The Saudi market came in third place, recording 1.2 million international tourists to Dubai, a growth of 147% compared to 2021, while the United Kingdom ranked fourth with about one million visitors, a growth of 149% compared to 2021.

The Russian market ranked fifth, recording 758,2022 tourists in 70, a growth of 2021% compared to 590, followed by the United States in sixth place, with about 90,2021 visitors and a growth of 422% compared to <>, and Germany came in seventh place, with about <>,<> visitors.

Western Europe and the GCC accounted for 21 per cent of international visitors to Dubai each.

South Asia accounted for 17 per cent of total visitors, with the Middle East and North Africa accounting for 12 per cent, underscoring Dubai's continued appeal to travellers from nearby markets.

The Americas accounted for 7% of total international visitors by region.

North and Southeast Asia and Africa contributed 5% each, while visitors from Australasia accounted for 2%.
