The beneficiaries of the new check of 200 euros, which the Government has enabled to alleviate the consequences of high inflation, will have to include the amount received in their Personal Income Tax (IRPF) statement for next year.

And when taxpayers exceed the exempt minimum,

they will have to pay the Treasury up to 60 euros

of those 200 euros.

This will be the case of beneficiaries who have an income of between 22,000 euros, which is the minimum exempt in personal income tax, and 27,000 euros, which is the income limit to receive the aid.

According to the calculation made by the General Council of Economists for EL MUNDO, and except in certain cases, an average taxpayer will have to pay the Treasury 30% of the income from the check, that is, the aforementioned 60 euros.

The aid, in this case,

will really remain at 140 euros

.

In the Ministry of Finance, for their part, they point out that they do not have an estimate of how many taxpayers will be in that situation.

They emphasize that

most of the beneficiaries will not have to pay taxes

for the aid since they are below the exempt minimum, and that the family situation also influences the obligation and amount to be taxed.

An approximation is the data of taxpayer tranches that is also published by the Registry of Tax Advisory Economists (REAF) of the Council of Economists.

Between 21,000 and 30,000 euros, more than 3.5 million taxpayers accumulate.

Not all of them will have to pay for the aid because some will be exempt, others will not be able to receive it when they exceed the limit and the family situation must also be taken into account, as pointed out in the department directed by María Jesús Montero.

But it is a reference that shows that there are many citizens who are in the affected income bracket.

800,000 applications

In total terms, the Government's objective is to reach 4.5 million households and avoid the fiasco that the previous aid of 200 euros entailed, when the number of beneficiaries barely reached 20% of what the Executive proposed.

For this reason, in addition to raising the maximum limit to the aforementioned 27,000 euros, the Government has made the criteria for accessing the check more flexible.

So much so that two people who live together but do not have a legal bond and do not have children in common, will be entitled to the aid individually.

This is, that in the same address where, for example, a couple resides,

there may be two checks

.

The term to request the 200 euros opened last Wednesday and in the first hours, according to Montero on Friday, the Tax Agency

received 800,000 requests

.

The data contrasts with that registered with the previous check since, according to Servimedia reports, in the same period barely 60,000 requests were accumulated.

The application period

ends on March 31

, and the limit that the Tax Agency has to enter the aid is three months from that last day of the next month.

This is, next June 30.

But in the Ministry they point out that in the simplest cases of verification the payment will be made much earlier.

To request the check, potential beneficiaries must complete the process through the electronic headquarters of the Tax Agency.

«In the presentation of the application it is necessary to have a Cl@ve, electronic certificate or DNI-e.

You can also submit the form, a third party by proxy or social collaboration, “explains the organization directed by Soledad Fernández.

They will not have to provide any additional documentation, since "Social Security and other public bodies will send the Tax Agency the necessary information to verify compliance with the necessary requirements to request aid."

And if it is approved, the "

aid will be paid by bank transfer

", they add in the Treasury.
