• On Facebook or as an advertisement on Instagram, a "Travel proposal" page seems to reveal a good plan. In this case, "annual passes to all for only 1.95" euro.
  • An initiative of the SNCF in response to "the indignation of customers after the rise in prices," says the publication.
  • However, the railway company confirms to 20 Minutes that this is a fraudulent approach.

What if you could take the train as many times as you wanted for less than two euros? According to the Facebook page "Proposition voyage", it would be a new offer launched by the SNCF. She says: "SNCF has decided to rectify the situation and issue annual passes to all for only 1.95. "

According to the page, "this decision is due to the indignation of customers after the price increase". The offer also appears as an advertisement on different social networks such as Instagram, always with the same page title. It is explained that you have to answer a quiz to win your prize.

Several comments from so-called winners advance: "It turns out that my work leads me to travel to other cities. And this pass helped me a lot! I am grateful for such an action! Some even want to be reassuring by saying: "This is certainly not a scam. The SNCF does not want to risk its reputation. 20 Minutes tells you more.

FAKE OFF

Reductions or a decrease in prices would have been welcome following the rise at the beginning of the year and the current inflation. But it was also not necessary to dream of unlimited travel for the modest sum of 1.95 euros. It was obviously too good to be true. The SNCF confirmed to 20 Minutes that this is a "fraudulent" approach. "Our legal department has been notified," the railway company added.

The page seems rather reliable, however. By clicking on the link of the announcement, you arrive on the logo of the SNCF, followed by the inscription: "Today, you were chosen at random to participate in this survey. It will only take a minute and you could win a prize: SNCF MAX Active + Card for unlimited travel! Three questions follow. Then, after a small game, which you win every time, you just have to fill out a form. Then to transmit your bank details... and the scam is played.

The active Max pass +

On the illustration and in the comments of the false winners, each more laudatory than the last, is a "Max active +" card. This is a subscription that does exist at the SNCF. In it "450 reservations are included", at the rate of "4 to 5 round trips per week" maximum. The price then depends on the line you choose for this subscription. For example, for a trip Paris Montparnasse - Bordeaux Saint-Jean, it will cost 7,308 euros per year, in second class.

Fake news to check? Go through WhatsApp

Far from the announced amount of 1.95 euros. The SNCF also specifies on its website: "From January 10, 2023, your subscriptions increase by 5% on their anniversary date. In addition, access to TER and INTERCITES trains is subject to acceptance by your region. So this is far from the time for cuts.
