His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, affirmed that the UAE is continuing to play its role in supporting the prosperity of the global economy, by bringing together those in charge of various vital sectors, to discuss ways to develop sustainable development solutions, products and frameworks, in order to serve the interests of the peoples of the region and the world, including the food sector, which is a strategic priority for the UAE.

His Highness said in a tweet on Twitter yesterday: "More than one million square feet, including 5000,100 companies, are showcasing more than 36,<> food products at the exhibition (Gulfood Dubai) that I visited this morning. The last session witnessed agreements worth <> billion dirhams. We look forward to a successful new edition of the exhibition. Dubai will remain the place that brings together the world's traders."

His Highness said: "Facilitating food trade is a strategic priority for the UAE, for which it employs all possible capabilities within flexible and effective frameworks. We have a moral obligation to the world, which we spare no effort to fulfill, by participating in the creation and development of effective, highly efficient and reliable supply chains, and creating flexible and adaptable frameworks that enable people's equitable access to food resources, ensure sustainable food production and delivery around the world."

His Highness praised the efforts exerted to achieve the objectives of the National Food Security Strategy, and the relentless pursuit of exchanging knowledge, expertise and successful experiences, in order to serve to transform the goals into tangible results and achievements with positive returns at the local and international levels.

This came during the visit of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, accompanied by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, yesterday, to "Gulfood 2023", the largest event of its kind in the world in the field of food and beverage supply, with the participation of 5000,1500 exhibitors, including 100,125 participating for the first time, to present 30,<> new products from <> countries, with an exhibition area of more than <>% of its area in previous years.

During a tour that included a number of international pavilions and national companies, His Highness was briefed on their various food products, through their participation in the 28th edition of the exhibition, which is the largest in its history, in terms of the number of participants and exhibition area, and its work will continue until February 24.

Some of the world's biggest names in the food industry are participating in the exhibition, including Unilever, Gulf Marketing Group GMG, Americana, Fonterra, McKin, Monin, Hunter Foods, and the Poultry Products Export Council of the United States of America, in addition to brands that are participating for the first time in the event, such as the Brazilian Food Processing Company, BRF Global, the Agricultural and Processed Food Export Development Authority, and many others, in addition to the participation of a large group of national companies in the event, which represents a model gateway. To expand its customer base and transit its products to new markets around the world.

Gulfood is the most important and prominent event on the map of the global food industry, and the first of its kind on the annual agenda of this industry for 2023, as it brings together in Dubai, the largest and most famous names to reveal the latest products and innovations for this vital industry, thus enhancing the position of the event as an international base, contributing to creating more growth opportunities for workers in this sector, through the pavilions of 125 countries, while attracting participation for the first time in the history of the exhibition.

The event, held at this stage, when the global food sector is witnessing many major challenges, serves to establish a constructive dialogue that paves the way for finding effective solutions to these challenges, and contributes to the development of an effective system for the movement of food trade around the world. The visit was attended by the Minister of Climate Change and Environment, Mariam bint Mohammed Hareb Almheiri, the Chairman of the Dubai World Trade Centre Authority, Helal Saeed Almarri, and the Director General of Dubai Municipality, Dawood Al Hajri.
